The Journey so far....

My college experience started took off from 24th August 2010 when I made the decision of joining Mechanical and Automation Dept. At Amity University,Noida.  I still remember the 1st day very clearly , going to a new institution , meeting new people , adapting to the change; to summon it all ,yes i was rather scared than excited. The fact that I am a highly introvert person makes me gel into new environment very difficult. To my dismay as soon as I entered the class, I was greeted very warmly a few students who had registered earlier. On the first day itself I was the member of the back benchers association. To tell in short the back benchers are the most specific elements of the class with certain abilities that can piss off the teachers. I really don’t know how but I was able to make friends with a few people which later with passage of time turned out to great pals.
Since I was from a different place and had no vacancy in the college hostel I was to reside in a outside hostel. I soon got to know a few of my classmates also inhabited the place and had occupied an entire floor. “The mechanist” we used to call it. Classes were fun to start off laughing, cracking jokes, staring at each other when the teacher used to bombard us with heavy “IIT” concepts. The first real incident took place when one of our Chemistry professors took us to the respective HOD for some minor issue the famous back benchers had created , not only did it create a bad image of the entire group including I , but it also started a legacy “Going to the HOD’s cabin” . Every now and then one of us used to be punished in his cabin for some or other wrong doing. Exams came, and exam fever in an engg. College is something to look out. Everybody with books, books with extra large sizes. I was never into studies and cramming up things, so I resorted what every other individual did the last night study. Last night group study with tea , Maggie and snacks to keep one up the night. The method was very effective in a certain subjects but had its perks too. After the exams it was mostly fun , followed by college parties and in the blink of an eye the First year of my college life was over.
Holidays or summer break, everyone was super excited but then will college let you live in peace? The answer to it was a big NO. A summer project was allotted to us and I in particular took up the most simplest of topics. Meeting friends again after the break was fun. The atmosphere filled with gossip. While mostly had enjoyed the break, a few of us did the constructive they took to body building. Now mechanical is associated with lads who are to be tough, rugged and to match this image flaunting your physique is a good option. The second year of my college life introduced us with a few technical subjects and i was blown over. My mind had stopped working, so much to grasp and being a slow poke it’s not easy. Still during the exams i managed to do fairly well. To be honest i was beter than many. The fest season came, with loads of dancers, singers whom i had just seen on the television were standing right in front of me and displaying their varied skills. Its was fun. The second year came to an end and I would sum up as the year of enjoying .
The summer in-house training, A faculty was allotted and one had to do all sorts of things that you know nothing about to please the guide and attain marks; this being the hard core truth. And so I did. The 3rd year of my studies was filld with mixed emotions. Friends and family issues, this year I discovered that every who talked merry wasn’t your true mate, some fly with the wind. Never the less the best part was yet to arrive. After the final 6th semester exams the internship. I did my internship at RDSO Lucknow (U.P) It was an amazing experience. So much to learn and inculcate. Having no knowledge about software’s i learned a lot. Associated with senior scientist of Indian Railways and working with them on projects that are helping the nation , a feeling that cant be described.
The final year, finally the senior most at college, the year is marked by fear of placements. While students put in their best to get themselves placed. The final year project, where one has to bring out some innovation the year of all conclusive fun and enjoyment. The year worth remembering, its been a good jolly ride so far and I hope that does end on a good note, Not to mention the best thing happened to me during this phase I got selected for giving ssb at Bhopal for Indian Navy, though i got conference out but the journey through it was worthwhile. It taught me things that no one ever could have, and infused a spirit of nationality yes not to forget to amend yourself and come back , get recommended and be an officer.
